Cholesterol Therapy

• Cholesterol still plays a major role in the new inflammation-based understanding of heart disease. 
• The inflammation process starts with excess LDL (“bad cholesterol”) particles burrowing into walls of the coronary arteries lining and become oxidized. A critical approach to reducing cardiovascular risk is to keep LDL cholesterol at an optimal level.
  
• According to the Ray & Terry Longevity Program, the optimal range for total cholesterol is 160 to 180. 
• Ideally, LDL Cholesterol should be less than 100, unless you have multiple risk factors for heart disease, in which case it should be less than 80. HDL-Cholesterol (“good cholesterol”) should be 60 or higher.
  
• The first step toward improving cholesterol and triglyceride levels is to adopt a healthy diet by following our  nutritional recommendations.
• Most importantly, you should sharply reduce saturated fat, which is the most significant dietary influence.
  
• The ingredients in Ray & Terry’s Cholesterol Therapy have mechanisms that are independent from statins, so they can be used together with the drugs (but be sure to consult with your doctor).
  
• Cholesterol Therapy contains several ingredients that work independently to support healthy LDL and HDL levels. 
• These include: niacinamide, policosanol, gugulipid, plant sterols, garlic and cayenne.
  
• Niacinamide can be converted in the body into niacin. Niacinamide doesn’t cause a flush like niacin itself.
